Outsourcing building sustainability to ESCo

Municipalities, housing corporations, real estate developers or operators are increasingly looking critically at the real estate portfolio and strategy. This regularly leads to the question 'how can we make our real estate more sustainable and would we let the energy transition run via a ESCo. But where do you start? Is een ESCo a panacea or is it something else?

What is a ESCo?
With an Energy Service Company (ESCo) you can  save energy without having to make the (total) investments yourself. Another invests in your sustainability and you pay this via the guaranteed realized savings. When the investments have been earned back over time, this profit flows back into the owner's/user's coffers.

ESCo as the solution?
ESCo's (Energy Service Company) are nowadays often presented as the way to bring about an energy transition. However, ESCos are not panacea, because the 'formula' does not always work for every organization and/or for every object. However, if they are possible, then it would be a great shame to choose the traditional route, because you would miss out on savings and sustainability potential. Whether a ESCo works for your property depends on various factors (such as strategy, type of buildings, etc.).

Are you, as a property owner or property user, considering making one or more buildings more sustainable via een ESCo and would you like to know more about this? Then follow the ESCoNetwerk workshop 'How do I outsource the sustainability of my buildings?'

After this workshop you will know what your ESCo options are and which 'knobs' you can turn. You also know the concrete next steps for starting with the energy transition.
